At launch, the P1 GTR was offered exclusively to existing McLaren P1 owners. Its mid-mounted V8 produces 986 bhp and incorporates an ERS-style push-to-pass system for additional power on demand. Aerodynamic enhancements include a large fixed rear wing with a Formula 1–derived Drag Reduction System, while the wing mirrors are repositioned onto the A-pillars to improve sightlines and reduce drag.
The GTR rides at a fixed height on race-tuned suspension and 19-inch motorsport alloy wheels. Beneath the rear wing sits the exposed, centrally mounted Inconel and titanium exhaust system—an all-new, straight-cut twin-pipe design engineered specifically for the P1 GTR.
